They have unearthed that fat stored on the thighs and butt can help prevent heart disease, diabetes and diseases brought about by obesity. Dr. Michael Jensen of Mayo Clinic also affirms that people are better off if they have fat on their lower body compared to their upper body. The research reports that people who have more fat on their stomachs experience more obesity problems than those who primarily have it on their hips. This is because fat stored on the belly is more metabolically active while the fat stored on the hips and butt is more stable.
